Eine alte jüdische Frau hat erst Vorbehalte gegen ihren afroamerikanischen Chauffeur; jedoch Freunden die beiden sich im Laufe der Zeit an.
Spielt darauf an, dass Lore ihre Mutter in der Folge herumchauffiert.

Lorelai meint, indem sich Ashlee die Haare schwarz färbte, wollte sich diese von ihrer erfolgreicheren Schwester abgrenzen und nicht mehr mit ihr verglichen werden.

Dina Abramowicz war eine Bibliothekarin und Sprachexpertin. Sowohl das Spiel und Film handeln vom ehemaligen Präsidenten der Vereinigten Staaten, Harry S. Truman.
Der Titel stammt aus einem Vorfall, der während dem Präsidentenwahlkampf 1948 stattfand. In Bremerton, Washington, lieferte sich Truman ein Wortgefecht mit Republikanern. Während der Red rief ein Anhänger "Give 'em Hell, Harry!".

Rory soll sich also auch ein Wortgefecht mit der Reporterin liefern.
