Ich denke auch, dass sich das nanooking auf den Film bezieht. In Richards Büro ist ja das Thermostat so eingestellt, dass es viel zu heiß ist. Vielleicht meint sie es so, dass die Heizung so heiß ist, als würde er bei den Eskimos leben?

Ich glaube eher, dass er selbst wie ein Eskimo lebt, weil es so kalt ist (sorry, oben hatte ich "heiß" geschrieben, aber das war Quatsch!), weil er das Thermostat nicht richtig einstellen konnte.

Zu dem envelope up to your head: ich hab ewig rumgegoogelt, aber nichts Passendes gefunden, erst im Gilmorism-Heft:

Eve Harrington ist ein Charakter aus dem 50er Film Alles über Eva.
Plot: Eve ist Fan eines Theaterstücks mit dem Star Margo Channing. Sie wird Margo vorgestellt und lügt ihr eine rührende Geschichte eines unglücklichen Lebens vor. Margo nimmt die junge Frau unter ihre Fittiche. Doch sie merkt, das Eve sie nur benutzt um ein Star zu werden und versucht, sie loszuwerden. Am Ende verzichtet die 40-jährige Diva zugunsten ihres Privatlebens darauf, weiterhin die 20-Jährige zu verkörpern und überlässt Eve damit die Rolle ihres nächsten Stückes. Diese wird somit der neue Star am Theaterhimmel.

Lon Chaney Jr.war ein Schauspieler. Wie sein Vater wurde auch er hauptsächlich durch seine Mitwirkung in Horrorfilmen bekannt, z.B. Draculas Sohn oder Frankensteins Haus.

Lorelai meint, das Marty plötzlich auftaucht um Deans Job zu „klauen“ (wie Eve bei Margo). Und wenn eine Leiter plötzlich verschwindet, vermutlich von Marty geklaut, würden alle Dean unglaublich schätzen, auch wenn Marty dann i-welche Tricks (wie Chaney in seinen Dracula/Werwolfrollen) abzieht.

Lore führt sich kindisch auf wegen dem Streit mit Christopher. Sie lenkt vom Thema ab (was ist mit Desperately Seeking Susan) und Rory meint dann „was ist mit 'my mother is two' “. Lore scherzt, dass sie diesen "film" nie gesehen hat und fragt ob angie dickinson da mitspielt.

Es geht um zwei alte Schwestern, die ziemlich einsam in Hollywood leben, die eine (Baby Jane) quält die andere ständig und will verhindern, dass sie irgendwelche Kontakte zur Außenwelt hat (sie sitzt im Rollstuhl).


Lorelai meint also, dass sie noch nicht alt und total vereinsamt ist wie die beiden in dem Film.
