Kapitel 51
Es war wieder Montag und Rory hatte schon einige Vorlesungen hinter sich gebracht.
Das Wochenende in Stars Hollow hatte ihr besser getan, als sie vermutet hätte.
Rory hatte Sookie, Jackson und den kleinen Davie besucht. Sie hatte den Kleinen gleich in ihr Herz geschlossen.
Doch jetzt war sie wieder in Yale. Der Alltag hatte sie eingeholt.
Paris hatte wie üblich schlechte Laune, Janet, hüpfte auf einem grünen Gummiball durch das Zimmer und Tanna hing einem Nachrichtensprecher an den Lippen.
Ein ganz normaler Nachmittag auf dem Campus.
Emsiges Treiben erfüllte die Gänge, laute Musik schallte durch alle Räume und kaum einer nahm sich die Zeit in die Bücher zu schauen, auÃer Rory.
Diese versuchte krampfhaft einige Texte für ihren Philosophietest zu lesen, doch um sie herum herrschte so viel Chaos, dass sie sich kaum konzentrieren konnte.
Resigniert griff sie sich ihre Tasche und machte sich auf den Weg zu ihrem Test.
Sie hatte sowieso nicht mehr allzu viel Zeit, bis die Stunde begann und im Hörsaal war immer noch mehr Ruhe als in ihrem Wohnheim.
Zwei Stunden später verlieà sie den Saal mit einem guten Gefühl im Bauch.
Der Test war ihr leicht gefallen und nun hatte sie endlich frei.
Viele Möglichkeiten gingen ihr durch den Kopf, wie sie die freie Zeit nutzen konnte, als plötzlich ihr Handy klingelte.
âHallo?â Meldete sie sich überrascht. Um die Uhrzeit rief bestimmt nicht ihre Mum an. Die wusste, wann ihre Tochter Unterricht hatte.
âHey Rory.â
âDean, schön dich zu hören.â Auf ihrem Gesicht breitete sich ein Lächeln aus.
âWas hast du heute vor?â
âNoch nichts besonderes, wieso?â
âWir wollten doch mal einen Kaffee zusammen trinken und ich dachte heute wäre ein guter Zeitpunkt dafür.â
âIn Ordnung.â
âWann hast du Zeit?â
âIch war grad in meiner letzten Stunde für heute. Ich hab jetzt Zeit. Wann bist du denn hier?
Oder soll ich nach Stars Hollow kommen?â
âNicht nötig.â Erklang in diesem Moment eine Stimme dicht hinter ihr. Rory hatte ihr Zimmer fast erreicht, als Dean plötzlich durch die Tür des Wohnheims trat und sie anlächelte.
âWow, ich dachte nicht, dass du so schnell bist.â
âTja, ich bin eben immer für eine Ãberraschung gut.â
âIch schaff nur noch schnell mein Schulzeug rein und dann können wir los.â
Neugierig kam Dean ihr hinterher und Rory stellte ihn ihren überraschten Mitbewohnerinnen vor.
âJanet, Tanna, das ist Dean. Paris, du kennst ihn ja schon. Dean, dass sind Janet und Tanna.â
âHi.â Dean lächelte verlegen.
Tanna sagte überhaupt nichts, sondern starrte ihn nur ehrfürchtig an, Janet grüÃte cool zurück und Paris blickte Rory neugierig an.
âWir sind dann auch schon wieder weg.â Sagte Rory hastig, nachdem sie ihre Tasche schnell in ihr Zimmer gebracht hatte und jetzt wieder im Gemeinschaftsraum stand.
Sie verabschiedeten sich noch kurz und machten sich dann auf den Weg zu dem kleinen Campus-Café.
Fast wie ein Deja-vu, dachte sich Rory, als sie bewusst auf eine anderen Tisch zusteuerte als den, an dem sie noch vor kurzem zusammen mit Robby gesessen hatte.
Nachdem sie bestellt hatten fragte Rory neugierig: âUnd wie gefällt dir dein Leben als frisch gebackener Ehemann?â
âLindsay ist wirklich toll. Sie versucht ständig mich zu bekochen, doch irgendwie hat sie den Dreh mit dem Herd noch nicht so recht rausbekommen, weshalb ihr ihre Mutter oft hilft.â
âWie in einer richtigen kleinen Familie.â Ergänzte Rory.
âJa.â Dean lächelte sie vorsichtig an.
âDas mit uns damals ist nicht wirklich gut gelaufen.â Begann Rory nach einigem Zögern.â
âNein.â
âEs tut mir Leid, was damals geschehen ist.â
âMir auch. Was ist jetzt eigentlich mit Jess?â
âEr ist irgendwo in New York.â
âDas tut mir Leid.â
âMuss es nicht. Es hat nur einfach nicht mehr richtig geklappt.â
âLass uns das Thema wechseln.â Dankbar sah Rory ihn an.
Bei diesem Thema hatte sie immer noch ein mulmiges Gefühl im Bauch.
âWas machst du jetzt eigentlich? Hast du einen Job?â
âIch habe mein Studium angefangen. Genau wie du.â
âDas ist ja toll. An welches College gehst du?â
âAuf das Connecticut State College.â
âDas ist toll. Ich wusste schon immer, dass in dir mehr steckt.â
âIch wollte es einfach versuchen. Pläne ändern sich eben. Du wolltest schon immer nach Harvard und jetzt bist du hier. Ich wollte eigentlich nie studieren, doch jetzt tue ich es trotzdem. Ich hatte immer ein tolles Vorbild, jemanden der an mich geglaubt hat.â
âWen denn?â
âDich.â
âMich? Aber wir haben doch fast ein Jahr nicht miteinander geredet. Ja, aber als wir noch zusammen waren, hast du mich immer mit allen möglich Büchern versorgt und mir davon erzählt, wie toll es is zu studieren und da dachte ich mir, dass ich es ja wenigstens probieren könnte. Auch wenn ich nicht so intelligent bin wie du.â
âDas ist nicht wahr. Du bist einer der intelligentesten Menschen, die ich jemals getroffen habe.â
âDanke. Es tut gut mit dir zu reden. Das hat mir gefehlt.â
âMir auch.â
Es wurde ein toller Nachmittag. Sie sprachen über alle möglichen Dinge und waren so vertraut, als hätten sie sich nie gestritten.
Wie hatten sie es nur so lange ausgehalten nicht miteinander zu reden?
