Sie stand im Pavillion von Stars Hollow. Sie hatte ihr Brautkleid an. Neben ihr stand Jess.
Sie waren allein. Alle, sogar Lorelai, hatten sich von ihr abgewandt, als sie beschlossen hatte Jess zu heiraten. Und trotzdem war sie glücklich. Sie würde ihr Leben mit Jess geniessen.
Sie liebte ihn, das war die Hauptsache. Sie würden zusammen irgendwo leben. Zusammen.
Jess steckte ihr den Ring an den Finger und sie küssten sich.
Plötzlich hörte Rory, wie jemand ihren Namen rief. Es war Dean. Er hatte einen Benzinkanister in der linken und ein Feuerzeug in der rechten Hand. "Rory, es tut mir Leid.", sagte er noch bevor er den Pavillion anzündete.
Die ersten Flammen loderten auf. Aber sie konnten nicht mehr vor den Flammen entkommen.
Das Feuer verbreitete sich immer schneller. Rory und Jess küssten sich leidenschaftlich. Während sie sich in den Armen hielten, verbrannten sie. Aber sie hatten sich gefunden. Alles andere war ihnen egal. Sie würden jetzt für immer zusammen sein.
Rory wachte Schweià gebadet auf. Neben ihr lag Logan, er war am Abend von seiner Geschäftsreise wieder gekommen und sie hatten sich einen gemütlichen Abend gemacht.
Sie musste geschrieen haben, denn Logan war aufgewacht und guckte Rory besorgt an. "Was ist los?"
"Ich hatte einen Alptraum.", sagte Rory mit zittriger Stimme und ein Schauer lief ihr über den Rücken, als sie an das Feuer dachte. "Was hast du geträumt?", fragte Logan interessiert.
"Weià ich nicht mehr, irgendwas mit Feuer." Sie wollte ihm nicht die Wahrheit sagen. Er wollte bestimmt auch nicht hören, dass sie von ihrem Exfreund geträumt hatte. SchlieÃlich waren es nur noch zwei Tage bis zur Hochzeit.
Der Traum hatte sie verängstigt. Aber sie musste versuchen, den Traum zu vergessen und weiter zu schlafen. Sie musste für die nächsten Tage fit und ausgeruht sein. Morgen würde sie nach Stars Hollow fahren und übermorgen würde schon ihre Hochzeit sein.
Am nächsten Morgen wachte Rory auf. Sie musste wieder eingeschlafen sein, aber ihr Schlaf war unruhig und wenig erholsam gewesen. Sie stand auf und packte ihre Sachen in einen Koffer. Ihr Kleid hatte Lorelai fertig gestellt und nach ihren Angaben sah es einfach traumhaft aus. Den Koffer stellte sie in den Flur. Dann ging sie in die Küche. Sie brauchte jetzt Kaffee. Zum Glück war niemand in der Küche, der ihr Kaffee machte. Niemand der Angestellten und auch Logan verstanden nicht, wie sie solch starken Kaffee trinken konnte. Und so wurde ihr immer lascher Kaffee vorgesetzt, was sie einfach grausam fand. "Rory" kam es aus dem Flur, "wir müssen los." "Bin schon da", mit einem Becher Kaffee eilte Rory nach drauÃen und setzte sich in die Limousine.
Die ganze Stadt war wegen der Hochzeit in Aufruhr. Musste sie denn unbedingt hier in Stars Hollow heiraten? Den ganzen Tag saà er in Lukes Appartement und las ein Buch nach dem anderen. Die Leute so glücklich bei den Hochzeitsvorbereitungen zu sehen, tat ihm weh. Alle liefen fröhlich herum, was ihn zwar schon immer genervt hatte, aber noch nie so wie jetzt.
War es zu spät für sie beide? Liebte sie ihn? Er würde es ja bald erfahren.
Zur gleichen Zeit kamen Rory und Logan in Stars Hollow an. Ãberall liefen fröhliche Leute herum, die sie begrüÃten oder anlächelten. Rory war aufgeregt. Nur als sie an Luke’s Diner vorbeikamen, wurde sie traurig. Logan bemerkte den Schatten über Rorys Gesicht, als sie am Diner vorbeikamen, aber er dachte sich nichts dabei. Er dachte einfach, dass sie noch sehr müde sein musste. "Ich freue mich schon auf heute ", kam es von Rory, "endlich mal wieder ein Frauenabend." Rory wollte ihren Jungesellinnenabschied feiern. Sookie, Lane, Paris, Miss Patty, Babette und natürlich Lorelai würden dabei sein. Logan wollte seinen Jungesellenabschied mit Finn, Colin und ein paar anderen in New Haven feiern. Rory gab Logan einen Kuss und sprang aus der Limousine. Sie lief auf das Gilmore Haus zu, drehte sich aber noch einmal um und winkte Logan zu. Dass Logan zurück winkte bekam sie gar nicht mehr mit, denn Lorelai kam aus dem Haus und sie beide fielen sich fröhlich und total hysterisch in die Arme. Logan schmunzelte und fuhr davon. Er hätte nie gedacht, dass er einmal heiraten würde und wenn, dann nicht so früh. Aber er liebte Rory und er konnte sich vorstellen, dass er mit ihr für immer glücklich werden würde. Allerdings wusste er nicht, was in Rory vorging, was passiert war und was noch alles passieren würde.
