Luke lay sprawled on his couch, chewing on an apple, listening to the news on TV only with half an ear.
“Newsflash. The number of missing people has increased dramatically over the last few months. The most recent publication of the local police reports another tragic case of kidnapping. “
Luke rolled his eyes ‘Geez, another one of these nutcases took a beloved family member… get it over with already'
“It deals with the abduction of a young woman, 32, who hasn’t been sighted in over a week. The police doesn’t rule out the probability that a crime is being committed. If you have seen this woman…”
Luke looked over to the screen out of sheer boredom and almost choked on his apple.
He sat up straight quickly, coughing hard while his girlfriend stared back at him from the screen.

They had found the guy’s car on Lorelai’s retraced route but they had nothing except the guy’s name: Julian Partageno.
“Does that guy have any real estate? Cabin in the woods preferably” Marcus punched in the data and waited, then nodded at his partner
“Yes, it’s in the middle of nowhere….”
Realization slowly sunk in “Cabin”
Marcus grew aggravated “Yes!”
“In the woods”
“YES!” “Cabin in the woods, girlfriend, psycho guy”
He gasped and pointed at Robert
"GET THERE FASTER” Robert yelled and the other policeman jumped up “We’ll go there and see if they’re there”
‘I hope they are’ was Marcus’ last thought when they left the station and sped off to the cabin in the woods.

Luke paced his apartment, waiting for the returned phone call from the police that they had promised as soon as they knew something.
He raked his hands through his hair and tried to push the thoughts about what this whacko could do and probably already did to his girlfriend.
Suddenly the phone rang and he ran over to it and picked it up
“Hello?”
“Mister Danes, this is Officer Rochelle, you asked us to call you when we have any news on Miss Gilmore”
Luke took a shaky breath
“We think we found her”
