Ich hab mal bei Ausiello nen Kommentar hinterlassen....

So, the final interview with Lauren Graham....
When I read that after this crappy season the show would be over I was honestly shocked and really really angry. That anger vanished though and I was just plain out sad.
But then came the first tidbits of the Ellen interview out and I got angry again.
Reading your interview with Lauren now, even the word "furious" could be used.
I think at the moment Ms. Graham has a huge problem mixing-up some stuff: She is mixing up: What's best for Lauren, what's best for the show and what's best for the fans.
What's best for her, and she makes that very very clear, is that the show is over. I understand that she is happy about her free-time, and although she says it's not true I think she might even start to panic a bit. She's not getting any younger (the truth- no insult intended)and if she really wants a family she has to hurry.
Best for the show though would have been to cancel it after season 4 or 5, cause back then it was really good and going then would have brought the show a very high level of quality in hindsight. Not this OOC crap of season 6 and don't even get me started on season 7.
What's best for the fans though would have been 13 more episodes to tie all lose ends. I am a Luke and Lorelai fan, honestly that was nearly the only reason I watched this show, but as she says it's about family relationships, about mother and daughters. Okay then let's concentrate on that and see what we might have after the end:
A Rory who has secrets and doesn't tell her mother everything (the Times-thing), a mother who doesn't tell her daughter everything (where should I start: The marriage with Chris? That she slept with him? The marriage problems? Her feelings for Luke? What she really thinks about Logan? to be continued).
Ah and then we also have the Emily-Lorelai relationship: God, how I wished for one heartfelt "I'm proud of you" or only one hug during hard times... I guess it won't be happening.. I don't know it, but solving all the problems in the last two remaining epis.. I can't see it happening.
In the end it looks like Rory will be a journalist and go away,might be calling once a week. Lorelai will remain in Stars Hollow,alone and without her daughter or a husband or more kids (she wanted so desperately) Emily and Richard will sit in Hartford, no more Friday night dinners. Maybe Lorelai will at least stop by on holidays.... So that is what the show was all about.... nice ending Ms. Graham, even if you don't count the LL stuff in.
But it's all about DIRECTION, right?!
The only question is: Which direction? I can't see any movement?
Oh and then let's get to the direction of the LL relationship... you know there was once a show called "Judging Amy" and in this show two characters (although the show was also about family relationship and not about two love-interests) danced around each other for years and then finally there seemed to be "a direction" and then.. the show got cancelled.
I never saw Amy Brennemann giving an interview though, where she said that it's all about direction... "Guys, you have the direction now,let's end the show". No, she tried (reportedly) and tried very hard to give her fans not only the direction, but the way and the arrival (other story that it never happened).
It feels like Lauren is mocking her fans. She has no respect for what the fans want. Obviously she has forgotten that those fans were the ones who watched GG, who saw every episode, analized every szene and had to sit through all that season 6 and 7 crap, because they had hope that they would be heard in the end.
But the fans are not actors or producers, so what do they know? They can't tell if something is creatively genius... but they can tell if a TV show sucks because it's no longer fun to watch, or full of tension, or for whatever reason you started to watch the show.
She obviously never watched a single episode (hello, can't remember one favorite moment- how oblivious and ignorant can you be while working?!), the sentence "It got more comedic with every year" clearly shows that.
Oh yeah, how we laughed when Lorelai suffered through the second part of season 6. I had tears in my eyes from laughing when she talked to the psychologist and then gave Luke the ultimatum. Or when Rory and Logan broke up. When Richard had the heart-attack. When Lorelai told Luke "I slept with Christopher". When Emily feared her husband would die or when Lorelai lied to herself for 15 episodes... god that was hilarious! (I hope the sarcasm shows).
Reading this comment I am not suprised she says she has already forgotten what's in the last episode.
I am just wondering how she can talk about creativity and "good" storylines and so on if she never sat down and watched the crap they gave us.
She wanted a real love triangle- with Christopher? I mean, if she has no idea what happened in the last episode they shot, no wonder she forgot the complete history Lorelai and Christopher had. The fans didn't and for that they knew that this was wrong.. we knew it the moment Lorelai yelled at him " Is Sherry still pregnant? Are you still going to marry her, Christopher? Then that's the way it is!.... Because it hurts to much. Standing here talking to you is killing me!". That combined with the "I never really loved anyone until Luke" surely leads into the direction of "Let's marry Lorelai off to Chris".
I could rant about this for hours and I am not sure how many signs I have left here (if any).
I can only speak for myself and for those I have talked to and it mainly comes down to this:
We adored Lauren over the years for the character she played. She never talked much about her fans and I know about more than one special fan-project which never even got a "Thank you" back. We accepted it somehow, although I ask myself "Why?" now, but that's the way it was.
I really wish I could still be a fan, because after letting the favorite show go, it's hard to let your favorite actress go as well.
But:
Hearing her celebrating the complete destruction of our favorite show, even if she uses words like " creative process" is a slap into all our faces.
At the moment I am at a point, like one of the posters above, where I never want to watch anything with her, from her or about her, ever again. Not because the show is ending the way it does, or because she said she is too exhausted to do another year, but because the way she is talking sounds like "Screw you Gilmore Fans. We didn't give a damn about your opinion while the show was still on, so why should I care about you now?"
Maybe one day, when she'll be 55 and out of job for a long time and all the former fans of her from GG-days will say " Don't give her a job. We don't wanna see her anymore. She doesn't care about us and what we want to see.", she will think about what she said right after the end of GG, hopefully long and hard. I hope she'll enjoy the creative process and the direction of this process the way we did enjoy season 7...

Zu dem ganzen Thema kann ich nur sagen: Endlich ist der Mist vorbei. Staffel 6 und 7 waren nicht ausszuhalten. Und auch sonst war es nur an der Schmerzgrenze. GG gabs endeutig 6 Jahre zuviel.

Um mir nicht euer ganzes Geschrei anhören zu müssen: Mir gefällt, wie ihr das unterstützt. Sehr guter Text Karana!

Dem kann ich nur zustimmen, allerdings mit einer Einschränkung langsam macht mich das nicht nur traurig sondern wütend. Und zwar je mehr man von den Interviews liest.

Denn, daß der Job anstrengend ist, das sei ja unbestritten, aber auch andere Jobs haben eine hohe Arbeitslast und diejenigen, die sie tun verpassen Geburtstage, Taufen....
Als Darsteller einer so erfolgreichen Serie bekommen die Darsteller jedoch nicht nur das gute Gehalt dafür, sondern profitierern auch andersweitig davon (oder wieviele hätten sich sonst einen Film über eine Hose angeschaut etc....) und werden auch weiterhin davon profitieren (Hose Teil 2 etc....).
Dementsprechend sollten sie nun mal wirklich besser aufpassen, ihre 'Kunden', denn das sind wir in gewisser Weise nunmal', nicht weiter zu verärgern. (Wer kauft schon in einem Geschäft, wenn einen der Besitzer so herblassend behandelt, wie es im Interview von Lauren Graham desöfteren durchscheint...ein Beispiel:

Denn das eigentlich wichtige und einzigartige war der Kreativprozess, das Erfinden und auch die Weiterentwicklung dieser tollen und einmaligen Charaktere (auch wenn natürlich nicht aller immer einverstanden waren, in welche Richtung dies ging).
Sicher wäre es ein anderes Gilmoregirls gewesen ohne diese beiden Hauptdarstellerinnen. (z.B. muß man ja wohl ehrlich sagen, daß die bisherigen Filme mit Alexis Bledel nicht so der große Hit waren-TROTZ der Gilmore Fans, die brav hinein liefen, und wie wäre es erst OHNE...)

Außerdem erhielt die Serie ihre Liebenswürdigkeit zu einem nicht zu vernachlässigenden Teil von ihren weiteren Figuren (Emily, Sookie, Paris, Kirk...). Dementsprechend:

NEIN!!!!! Diese Show war über diese girls, die sich IMMER auf die Hilfe ihrer FREUNDE verlassen konnten, die eine ganze Stadt (bzw. bei Rory später zusätzlich einige Mitstudenten ) zur Unterstützung hatten, ohne die sie nie das erreicht hätten, was sie erreicht haben, die ihnen ihre Marotten etc. immer wieder verziehen und weiter an sie geglaubt und man kann schon fast sagen 'geliebt' (man denke nur an Miss Patty in der letzten Folge...) haben !!!!!!!

Daher nochmal: NEIN, Frau Graham: es ging nicht alleine um die girls und damit nicht alleine um Sie und Frau Bledel!!!!!
Und nachdem uns diese zwei schon eine achte Staffel und ein anständiges Ende vermasselt haben, war es sehr schade, daß sie anfangen einem nun die letzten Folgen und überhaupt die Serie zu vermiesen.

Das Interview mit Lauren Graham ist wirklich wie ein Schlag ins Gesicht. Wir, die Fans, haben die Show zu dem gemacht, was sie ist und nicht umgekehrt. Klar, Lauren ist in meinen Augen eine begnadete Schauspielerin und sie hat die Show deutlich mehr zu dem gemacht, was sie ist, als Alexis (zumindest in meinen Augen). Aber die anderen Charaktere sind doch genauso essentiell gewesen. Kelly Bishop ist manchmal noch besser gewesen und von Scott Patterson will ich gar nicht erst anfangen. Er hat die Streitgespräche zwischen LL erst perfekt gemacht. Sie allein hätte die Show nicht ausgemacht. Sie macht sie irgendwie lustig darüber, dass wir so an der Show hängen. Ich muss sagen, ich habe nicht an der Show an sich gehangen, sondern an Luke und Lorelai seit sie unter dem Chuppah gestanden haben. Habe eine grauenvolle siebte Staffel durchgehalten, weil ich felsenfest der Meinung war, dass wir schlussendlich einfach doch noch das bekommen müssen, was wir uns gewünscht haben. Und dann das. Ein bisschen blauäugig ist man als Fan ja immer. Man denkt sich, dass sich die Darsteller auch ein bisschen mit ihren Rollen identifizieren und dass ihnen das Schicksal der Charaktere am Herzen liegt. So wie ich ihr Interview interpretiere, hat ihr nie viel an der LL Geschichte gelegen, wo sie sich doch privat mit David S. besser versteht Wobei wir es dann ja wohl ihr zu verdanken haben *hüstel, toll gemacht*, dass die letzte Folge dann doch eher einer Abschiedfolge gleicht, als einem Staffelfinale. Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass, wenn ihr die Reaktionen der Fans zu Ohren kommen, dass sie sich schon ihre Gedanken machen wird, ob das so alles richtig war, wie sie es gesagt hat. Und was bitte ist so lächerlich daran, über einen GG Film nachzudenken, Miss Graham. Das wäre vielleicht kein adäquater Ersatz für 13 Folgen GG, aber zumindest eine kleine Entschädigung. Was stellen die sich eigentlich vor, was die in 45 min letzter Folge alles verpacken können und uns zufriedenstellen können? Ich bin da sehr skeptisch und durch alle neuen Meldungen wird mir die Freude an den letzten beiden Folgen auch echt verdorben. Ich weiß, dass ich alle Folgen der ersten fünf Staffel bestimmt schon minimal 2 Mal gesehen habe, einige sogar eher schon fünf mal. Aber staffel sieben habe ich mir bis auf die Folge "To whom it may concern" und ab "Hay Bale Maze" nur einmal angesehen. Ach, es hilft alles nichts, aber deinen Brief an MA finde ich echt klasse, Jessi. Seinem Ärger Luft zu machen, kann manchmal helfen, obwohl es in diesem Fall wahrscheinlich leider sowieso nix bringt.

Ach mensch, ich bin so traurig!

Ich meine ich muss mich so langsam damit abfinden, dass es keine weitere staffel gibt (obwohl ich die hoffnung hege, dass Graham und Bledel merken, dass ihre Karriere durch das Ende der Gilmore Girls beendet wurde und sie eine neue staffel machen wollen).
Und nun kommt auch noch Miss Graham und redet so ein Zeug, ich habe mich auf ihre nächsten Filme gefreut (Evan Almighty, Because I sad so) und wahrscheinlich werde ich sie auch gucken, einfach weil die Story interessant ist, aber jedesmal wenn ich nun Graham auf der Leinwand sehe, muss ich daran denken, wie froh sie darüber ist, mit Gilmore girls aufzuhören und was sie für schlimme dinge gesagt hat in diesem Interview.

Ich bin so enttäuscht von ihr, sie sollte aufpassen was sie sagt, denn so kann sie alles ruinieren und das hat sie vielleicht auch schon einigen von uns.
Nun hoffe ich, dass Bledel nicht auch noch so einen Mist bringt, damit ich ihre Filme immer noch genießen kann...

Leidet nicht so! Es gibt noch etwas anderes ausser GG. Das reele Leben zum Beispiel. Es ist gut, dass es zu Ende ist und Mrs Graham ist mutig solche Dinge zu sagen. Vor allem, wenn man die Tatsache bedenkt, dass ich es habe läuten hören, dass die Verträge bereits unterschrieben waren. Auch von ihr.

Ich habe eine Quelle, die es mir sagte (aus Amerika). Ob es der Wahrheit enspricht, weiß ich nicht, aber insbesondere bei Infos zu S7 war sie zuverlässig.

aber es ist doch egal, schließlich gibt es keine neue staffel, es gibt keinen neuen vertrag. es ist aus, egal was wir uns wünschen oder was wir gehört haben.
Also, möchte ich einfach wütend bleiben und über die verlorene Serie trauern, denn auch wenn ich weiss, dass es auch ein reales leben gibt, so war es schön jede woche mich in diese serie zu vertiefen und zu vergessen welche eingenen probleme ich habe und stattdessen mir anzuseheh, wie die Gilmore Girls solche Probleme durchleiden und bewältigen.

Ich versteh nicht, was an dem Interview so schlimm sein soll. Was erwartet ihr denn? 7 Jahren ist ne lange Zeit, da ist es doch kein Wunder, dass sie mal was anderes machen will.
Ich find das Interview gut, seh echt nicht, was daran so schlimm ist.
Sie hat ehrlich geantwortet, wie es scheint, was soll sie denn sonst machen.
