Rory and Lorelai are splitting their Friday nights between Emily in the main Gilmore house and Richard in another house on the property. They visit Richard (and his new valet) first, leaving when Emily's maid notifies them that dinner is ready in the main house.
When she's moving into her Yale dorm, with the help of movers, Rory sees Glenn with his parents. He's embarrassed because he didn't find out until too late that it's uncool for sophomores to have their parents move them in. He asks Rory to go along with his cover story: His parents Linda and Bob are his older friends Gladys and Bill and the three of them spend the previous night bar-hopping. After Glenn and his parents leave, Rory runs into Marty.

While still with Marty, Rory talks to Paris on the phone. Paris informs Rory that Asher Flemming died over the summer, leaving Paris to handle his affairs. Marty asks Rory if Asher died in bed. He didn't; Marty lost the pool.

Later, Marty and Rory go out for coffee. He tells her that he recently found out his uncle Jerry is really his father. They run into rich students who recognize Marty. He reminds them that he tended bar for their parties.

Paris and Rory are living together in Branford, but this year they have their own rooms. When Rory gets back to the dorm, she finds that Paris is there and has switched their rooms around.

Lorelai and Luke go to a restaurant run by an older couple (Mazie and Buddy) who know Luke (and call him Lucas). Mazie tells Lorelai that it used to be a whorehouse and that she likes that it has a history. Mazie insists on serving them champagne (Luke would rather have a beer) because they're on a date.

Paris made up flyers with Asher's picture on them. She wants people to be able to pay tribute to him. When Rory's out posting the flyers, she sees the rich kids she met earlier with Marty. They're looking for someone. She see them go to her own door and overhears one of them say, "This is where she lives."

Emily eats dinner alone with a Tony Bennett CD playing. When she's finished, she goes into the living room and starts to read but closes her book. She goes to the window. A car's headlights illuminate the window as she looks outside and sees something that surprises her.


Luke and Lorelai have sex in this episode but we don't really get to see it. There's a scene where they are at dinner, chatting, eating and then after the end of the dinner scene it cuts to them in bed post-coital.

This is Matt Czuchry's first episode. He plays Logan, one of the rich students Marty knows.

LUKE AND LORELAI GO PUBLIC –— After Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Luke (Scott Patterson) spend a romantic night together at Luke’s place, Lorelai, walks into the dinner early the next morning dressed in one of Luke’s flannel shirts, only to discover that the place is full of customers. Lorelai is a little offended when it appears that no one cares about their relationship, until it becomes a topic of heated discussion at the town meeting. Rory has an angry exchange with a haughty, rich student named Logan (Matt Czuchry,"“Eight-Legged Freaks"), after he is rude to her friend Marty (guest star Wayne Wilcox). Paris (Liza Weil) holds a wake for her older lover Asher, who died over the summer. Kelly Bishop, Edward Herrmann, Keiko Agena, Jared Padalecki, Liz Torres and Sean Gunn also star. Amy Sherman-Palladino wrote the episode directed by Kenny Ortega

oh ja, das wird bestimmt lustig, wenn Lore mit nur einem Fannellhemd bekleidet ins Diner runterkommt :lach: und dann die Diskussion beim Town Meeting ob sie denn überhaupt zusammensein dürfen, Luke wird so ausflippen :lach:
