At the same time in Stars Hollow: Lorelai entered âLukeâs Dinerâ after an exhausting Friday Night Dinner at her parentâs house and sat down at the counter. Alarmed by the ringing of the doorbell Luke came out of the kitchen holding a can of coffee in one hand and a big mug in the other. He already knew that it could only be Lorelai âcause she came here every Friday after dinner and needed her coffee.
âHey, how was dinner?â He placed the mug in front of Lorelai and pourred some of the hot black liquid in. âDonât ask.â She took one big sip out of the mug and put it down again. âJust what I needed.â âThat bad?â, Luke seemed sincerely interested. âI had to explain to my parents why their beloved grandchild didnât come to dinner todayâs evening and why I havenât told them about Roryâs absence earlier.â âWhy?â, Lorelai nearly screamed. âI can tell you why! Beacause a few hours ago I myself didnât know where my daughter is! And you know my parents: They would have ripped my head off and never stopped telling me what a horrible mother I am!â âYouâre a great motherâ, Luke tried to calm her down: âRory loves you andâ¦â â⦠and still she d hasnât told me where she is!â âBut now you know?â Lorelai glared at him: âSheâs in Pennsylvania. With that damn nephew of yours!â âJess?â âIs there any other nephew I donât know of? Of course Jess!â âRory is with Jess in Pennsylvania?!â He looked at her totally flabbergasted. âI said that, didnât I?â âWhat are thy doing in Pennsylvania?â, Luke didnât seem to completely get the whole situation yet, which really began to annoy Lorelai: âI donât know what theyâre doing there. The only thing Rory told me is that they are going to spent the holidays together.â âWhy?â âI donât know why! But it must have been Jess idea. Rory wouldnât do something like that!â âWell, she did.â, Luke stated. âBut only because Jess told her to.â âDonât you think Rory is old enough to make her own decisions? She would have never gone with him if she didnât want it.â Lorelai grew more and more angry. She knew it wasnât Lukeâs fault but the evening had been so terrible that she simply needed smoeone she could yell at. âMy daughter would never have gone with him without telling me before!â Now she was close to crying and got up. âI guess itâs better if Iâd go now.â Luke didnât say a word.
âBye, Luke.â And then she was out of the diner, leaving Luke behind, who was looking after her for a few minutes, before he went back to work.

Manchmal ist es leicht, die Antwort zu finden. Manchmal nicht. Manchmal fällt es uns sogar schwer, die richtige Frage zu stellen.
