Meanwhile Jess and Rory had arrived at a small motel a few miles after Harrisburg. Jess parked the Mustang on the parking lot behind the building and got out of the car. Rory didnât move and looked straight forward through the window. âHey, donât you want to get out of the car? Weâre there!â She threw him an annoyed gaze, but then followed his example.
Jess sighed and walked in the direction of the motel. Rory followed him in a few steps distance.
The lobby of the motel wasnât all too big and a little shabby, but tough quite nice. It looked very much like the 70s and it was obvious that this was authentic. âWowâ, Rory wrinkled her nose as she saw the tasteless wallpapers and furniture. Jess rolled his eyes: âNice.â
While Rory looked around the lobby, Jess went to the reception and rang the bell on the reception table. A few seconds later, the receptionist, a stocky man in a colorful Hawaiian shirt emerged from his small buero as if he had waited for it. âWelcome to Bennyâs Motel!â, he exclaimed smiling broadly: âIâm Benny. What can I do for you?â
Rory giggled, but she could see that Jess was shortly before turning around on his heels and leaving this place as fast as possible.
Benny looked expectantly at Jess, who had to bite his tongue to not to make some sarcastic remarks and risking to spend another night outside in the car. He sighed, then answered the manâs question, even tough he thought it was obvious what he wanted: âI need a room.â âOh, you need a room!â, Bennyâs smile grew bigger: âWell, thatâs good âcause we have rooms here.â âGood. âCause we need a room.â, Jess replied, getting a little aggressive. . But the man kept on smiling: âOur ususal rooms have two single beds, but...â, he looked at Rory and winked at Jess: ââ¦we also have rooms with double beds.â

Manchmal ist es leicht, die Antwort zu finden. Manchmal nicht. Manchmal fällt es uns sogar schwer, die richtige Frage zu stellen.
