So und nun zum nächsten Chappy:
The simplest yet most complicated way
The cab drive back to the hotel was silent. Neither of them knew how to start this conversation; it was new territory for them.
Back in the hotel room, Rory sat down and looked up at Finn, who read the note his sister left them.
âSo â¦â Rory started. Finn looked up from the note.
âYeah?â He sounded somewhat nervous.
âCould you please sit down? We really need to talk about this.â He sat down next to her. âOkay, you kissed me.â
âI did, but ââ he was interrupted by her.
âYou kissed me and I kissed you back.â
âI know you did.â
âAfter that I ran. Iâm sorry for that!â
âWhy did you run?â
âI think it was kind of a reflex. Nearly every time a boy kissed me for the first time, I ran. When Dean kissed me, when Tristan kissed me, when Jess kissed me and now you. Come to think of it, Logan was the only one, from whom Iâve never run away.â
âWhen you put it like that it sounds like a good thing, that you ran.â He chuckled.
âWhat do you mean?â
âWell, with two of the three boys you ran from you were involved after it.â
âOh?â she hadnât thought of that. After that they were silent for a few minutes, as Rory thought about it and Finn waited impatiently for her to speak again.
âI guess youâre rightâ she finally said.
âOkay, now that we covered the facts, could you please tell me what weâre gonna do?â
âOnly, if you answer me a question.â
âGo ahead, love.â
âWhat do you feel for me?â
âI â¦â he tried, but didnât really know, what to say. The full truth was surely a little to much at the moment â or wasnât it?
âYou what?â she felt nervous. God, why did it make her nervous to see him hesitate? Was this good or bad? Only a few hours earlier they wouldnât even have thought about that!
âI donât think you really want to know.â
âI do too! Tell me, please.â
âBut it would make everything so complicated. Everything was going so fine just now and I so donât want to screw things up. Letâs just pretend nothing ever happened.â Rory looked at him. His eyes were full of fear. But why was he so afraid? She sighed.
âI donât think we can do that, Finn. It happened and that I ran doesnât automatically mean that I wish it never happened. I donât regret anything â well at least nothing about you.â
âYou donât regret it?â he sounded surprised.
âNo, I donât. Now could you please answer my question?â
âItâs pretty simple, but then again itâs not. Letâs just say, you are the only one for whom Iâve ever hated one of my friends.â
âThatâs not what I asked. I wanted to know, what your feelings are. If you ever tell me, I would feel much better about mine.â
âI just donât want to scare you, kitten.â
âFinn â¦â she slowly lost her temper. Why couldnât he just say it?
He on the other side debated about whether or not he should tell her the truth. He finally just settled for the simplest yet most complicated way to put it.
âI love you.â
âNo I didnât mean you should tell me, what you alw- Wait, you meant that!â She looked at him, taken aback.
âYes, Ror. I mean, that Iâm in love with you ⦠Now could you please start breathing again?â He looked worried. Rory realized that she had been holding her breath. She slowly let it out again and smiled shyly at him.
âI donât really know what to say now. Iâm sorry.â To her surprise he smiled understanding.
âDonât be. I spent at least three years denying it. I donât give you three years to think, but I know you need time to process. Itâs okay.â
âBut I donât want you to think, that I donât feel that way!â
âWell, do you?â
âI ⦠maybe ⦠but â¦â after one breath she settled for an answer, âYes, I think I do.â
Now his smile turned from understanding to unbelievably happy and he pulled her into his arms.
âYou sure?â
âI am.â She smiled, too.
âAre you going to run again, if I kiss you now?â After she shook her head he pulled her into a long kiss, which left both of their heads spinning. And it felt really good â for both of them.
Freu mich auf eure Meinungen!
