Okayâ¦hier kommt der nächste Teil:
Es war unerträglich still in der Küche. Nur das leise Ticken der Uhr, die an der Wand hing, war zu hören. Inzwischen hatte Lorelai alle vorgestellt und nun wusste keiner was er sagen sollte. Rory sah unschlüssig zu Kevin und dann zu ihrer Mum. In ihrem Kopf überschlugen sich die Gedanken. Gott, sie hatte wirklich alles falsch gemacht, was man nur hätte falsch machen können! Es war einfach unglaublich! Zwar hatte Lorelai gesagt, dass sie nicht böse war, doch dass glaubte sie nicht wirklich. Sie glaubte eher, dass ihre Mum sie nicht verärgern wollteâ¦
Eine ganze Zeit ging diese Stille weiter, doch dann stieà Luke Lorelai an.
âWas?!â, fragte diese forsch. Luke hob schützend die Hände hoch.
âHey, du brauchst mich nicht so anzukeifen!â, rief er und Lorelai seufzte.
âOkayâ¦tut mir Leid.â, murmelte sie. Normalerweise hätte sie jetzt eine Diskussion angefangen, aber Kevin war hier und irgendwie fühlte sie sich dadurch eingeschrängt. Sie wollte nicht gleich einen schlechten Eindruck machen - schon gar nicht nach der Sache mit dem Kaffeeautomaten. Für eine kurze Zeit dachte sie nach und sagte dann.
âAlso Kevinâ¦wir haben leider keine Raketen und unsere einzige Hoffnung ist ein kleiner Laden in Hardfortâ¦â
âUnd warum fahren Sie dann nicht dorthin?â, hakte Kevin nach. Lorelai legte den Kopf schief.
âWeil wir kein Auto haben.â, sagte sie und sah ihn scharf an.
âAhhâ Er wusste sofort worum es ging.
âJa, ganz genau.â, antwortete Lorelai lächelnd. âUnd da hab ich mich gefragt, ob du uns nicht dein Auto leihen kannst. SchlieÃlich bist du jetzt mit meiner Tochter zusammen und da könnte ich doch eine kleine Gegenleistung verlangen.â Wieder erkannte man auf ihrem Gesicht leichte Andeutungen des "Dackelblicks", doch diesmal war er nicht so stark wie bei Luke.
âHaben Sie dass auch mit meinen Vorgängern gemacht?â, fragte Kevin.
âWarum bist du dir so sicher, dass es Vorgänger gab?â, fragte Lorelai zurück. Kevin öffnete den Mund um etwas zu antworten, schloss ihn jedoch wieder. Anscheinend war es sinnlos mit dieser Frau zu diskutieren. Irgendetwas an ihr machte ihm sofort klar, dass er, egal was er sagte, verlieren würde. Daher nickte er nur kurz und sagte dann:âOkayâ¦Aber vergessen sie das mit dem leihen - Ich fahre!â Entschlossen holte er die Autoschlüssel aus der Jackentasche und strecke die Hand hoch. Dann hob er die Augenbrauen fragend und sah die anderen an. Lorelai hüpfte nun aufgeregt hin und her und der Mann, der ihm als Luke vorgestellt worden war, lächelte sie an. âSind die beiden zusammen?â, fragte Kevin leise zu Rory, als Lorelai Luke umarmte. Rory lachte kurz auf. Sogar Kevin war aufgefallen, was Lorelai und Luke für einander empfanden!
âIch denke sie sind kurz davor.â, antwortete Rory grinsend und beobachtete Lorelai, wie sie sich gerade von Luke löste.
âDu musst unbedingt mitkommen!â, bestimmte Lorelai und hüpfte immernoch auf und ab.
âWieso sollte ich?â, fragte Luke.
âWeil du als einziger weiÃt, wo dieser Laden ist! AuÃerdem hast du gesagt, dass du diesen Besitzer kennst. Vielleicht kriegen wir dann Rabat auf die Raketen.â, überlegte Lorelai weiter und schlieÃlich stimmte Luke zu.
âDann müssten wir uns aber langsam beeilen.â, sagte er und zeigte auf die Uhr. Lorelai nickte aufgeregt und wandte sich dann an Rory.
âKannst du das alles in der Zeit regeln?â, fragte sie.
âWas ist alles?â, antwortete Rory.
âNicht viel. Aber wenn es Probleme gibtâ¦â
ââ¦dann versuche ich sie zu lösen. Geht klar.â, beendete Rory den Satz und umarmte ihre Mum.
âDu bist meine Tochter.â, stellte Lorelai fest.
âIch hab auch nichts anderes erwartet.â, sagte Rory und sah den dreien hinterher, wie sie durch die Küchentür verschwanden.
