Und outsourcing ist, wenn man eigene Aufgaben an ix-/interne DienstleisterInnen abgibt...
Also einfach gesagt: es geht um Bangalore als wachsenden Faktor für Firmen die Outsourcing betreiben.

Es gibt ein Comeyduo namens Martin and Lewis.
Lore sagt statt "Martin and Lewis" " Byron and Lewis ", da Rory die Dichter Lewis und Byron erwähn; sie wandelt also den titel des comedyduos ab.

Mensa ist ein weltweiter Verein für hochbegabte Menschen jeden Alters.
Lorelai meint also, Max solle versuchen, sie in diesen Verein zu bringen. Das sagt sie, weil Max ja Lehrer ist und sie ihn beschäftigen will, damit er nicht früher geht.

ElectraWoman and DynaGirl ist eine Samstag Morgen Show über zwei Superheldinen, die von Deidre Hall und Judy Strangis gespielt werden.
Da Max eingeschlafen ist, vergleicht Lore sich und Rory mit den Superheldinnen weil sie ihn geschafft haben.

Them ist ein Schwarz-weisser scie-fictionfilm aus dem Jahr 1954, in dem Riesenarmeisen vorkommen.
Lorelai meint, dass sich durch Max ihr Leben total ändern würde; das leben das sie vorher hatten würde sozusagen Mutieren. Daraufhin fragt Rory, ob es genauso mutieren würde wie die Riesenarmeisen in diesem Film.

[Lorelai is lying on her bed. Max walks into the room.]

MAX: How ya doing?
LORELAI: Mm, I'm stable. ]
MAX: You're a lovely shade of puce.
LORELAI: Don't say puce. It sounds too much like another word I don't wanna hear right now.
puce ist eine Farbe: dunkelrot / braunrot.
Lore meint sie sei total vollgefressen. Max meint, Lore sei leicht rot im Gesicht, da sie so viel gegessen habe. Puce reimt sich auf puke (sich übergeben). Lorelai sagt, dass sie puce nicht hören mag, weil es sie an puke erinnert.

MAX: We're coming out of the restaurant and we're heading toward our next stop when my brother decides to leap frog over a parking meter.
LORELAI: Why did he do that?
MAX: Middle child.

Jan Brady ist ein Charakter aus der Fernsehserie 'The Brady Burch'. Sie ist die mittlere Tochter, die oft eifersüchtig ist, da ihre älteste Schwester Marcia scheinbar immer beliebter ist. Es ist ihr auch oft peinlich das mittlere Kind zu sein.
Da Max sagt, sein Bruder sei das mittlere Kind und das sei der Grund für seine Dumme Tat, vergleicht Lore ihn mit Jan Brady, die auch ein mittleres Kind ist.

Der Roboterjunge David wird von Menschen adoptiert und "prägt" sich auf sie, nachdem diese beschließt, ihn zu behalten. Die Prägung, ein einmalig zu sprechender Code, generiert die bedingungslose Liebe Davids zu ihr mit ganzer Hingabe.
