English Chatcorner II

I've been to the States four times so far and at the end of this month I'm going to England.

I truely envy you. (mostly for the United States visits)

I've wanted to visit San Francisco since I'm eight, but never made it...

Actually my former school always made trips with 6th grade classes to London or other cities in England, but my class didn't, the reason was, that my formmaster was afraid of a terroristic act, so we traveled to Prague....Sad story^^

Other topic:
Which english books have you read so far?
In school I 'had to' read:
Katie.com (very good book)
Oliver Twist
A Christmas Carol
Snow Falling on Cedars (this one was pretty hard to read, many unknown vocabulary)
Quest for a father..and some more I can't remember now^^

At home I often read english books to keep my english ,up to date'.

I've read the Monk books, which were easy to read.
Twilight and New Moon (also easy, sometimes too easy...)
and I've read the last two Harry Potter books in english, they weren't easy for me, too many unknown vocabulary...but I have my dictionary Smile

English speaking countries? I've been to Gloucester, England in 9th grade, and after high school I spent two months in Ireland, which was pretty cool.

Last year I went to London, meeting up with a few friends from all over the world. That was awesome. We went to Comic Con and met Milo Ventimiglia and some Star Trek people you're probably not interested in. (Yeah, I'm a geek.)
Oh, and we went to Waterloo Station to meet some folks and ran into Anthony Stewart Head (Giles from Buffy). We watched him buy a bagel. Smile

And yeah, that was it. I was planning to go to Minnesota this summer, but I'm kinda (translate: totally) broke, so that's off.

Books I've read? Lots. I'm constantly reading. Best one? The Princess Bride. Not as cheesy as it sounds. Quite the contrary. Seriously, read it, if you haven't yet.

The Princess Bride?! I've seen the movie in 8th grade with my class and my english teacher...I think it's a wonderful story. Smile
my english is terrible... Unsure

Have to admit, I haven't seen the movie, but it's on my to-watch list. You should read the book some day. It's so funny.

And YAY someone knows the Princess Bride. *happy dance*

My sister also knows the Princess Bride she has got the CD with the story. ( I don´t know the word for "Höhrspiel"...and I´m to lazy to look it up. Wink)

I know many girls your age, who are unable to bild coherent english sentences, that's terrible^^

By the way, "Hörspiel" means audio book in english...

I think I've heard about the Princess Bride, but never read it or watched the movie. The book might be worth readingBig Grin
