Gewidmet meiner lieben Isi ...... the crazy need love, too, and you get it right here :knuddel:
Lorelai still looked at that man who was sitting besides her. She liked him and somehow he gave her a feeling of security and love. Plus, he was a hottie! “Hey, do I know you?”, she finally asked, eyeing him curiously. Luke looked at the doctor, who looked startled and surprised.”Lore, it’s me, Luke.” “Lore? Who’s Lore?”, she asked with the innocence of a little child. He felt his face becoming hot and, tears welling up, he looked at the doctor for help.
When they stood outside and Luke had closed the door carefully, the mediciner began talking: “When we got her in, we found some wounds on her head which she must have gotten from some heavy item. We could just clean them, let them heal and see what happens when she wakes up.” He sighed. “Mr. Danes, I’m pretty sure she’s suffering from an amnesia.” Some minutes, which seemed like hours to him, went by. His head was hammering. Amnesia, amnesia, amnesia…. “Is there anything we can do?”, he finally asked and looked through the glass window at Lorelai who was looking around her room. “Well, you could confront her with things she likes and hope she’ll remember somehow. Play her favorite music, bring her food, pictures or take her somewhere. I can’t promise you anything but it might help. At least sometimes.” Luke sighed. “For a start, you could talk to her about herself, her family and you. That might help. It won’t hurt trying.”
He wandered around for a while, wondering what to do now. After he talked to the doctor, he had called Rory and Lorelai’s parents to tell them that she’d woken up and about the amnesia. Their reaction was …. Well, they took it pretty well. Except for Rory. She couldn’t understand that her mom couldn’t remember ANYTHING. Not even her own daughter. Maybe it’s better that she doesn’t remember certain things, Luke thought. When he returned to her room, Lorelai was inspecting the monitors. “Hey, you still haven’t told me your name!”, she reminded him and gave him a broad smile. “But first I wanna know who I am.” He sat down on the edge of her bed and took her hand again. It was cold. “You’re Lorelai Victoria … Gilmore” Luke had to think about her last name but he decided that he wouldn’t tell her about her marriage. Not yet. “Lorelai … that’s an odd name. Sounds like the name of an old spinster or a crazy lady with loads of cats. So, who are you?” He grinned. “I’m Luke, Luke Danes.” She thought about that and finally looked at him with her big, killer-blue eyes. “I’ve lost my memory, right?!” The only thing he could do was to nod.
When he came to the hospital the next day, Luke had a little surprise for her. She was awake, going through some kind of magazine. They had agreed to dismiss her from the intensive care unit since her condition was good and she didn’t need the machines anymore. “Luke!”, she greeted him with a happy smile on her face. “Finally someone sane to talk to …..What’s that smell?” It’s divine, she thought, and slowly absorbed the smell by taking long, deep breaths. He couldn’t help but noticing it and held a fresh cup of coffee under her nose. His eyes gave her a questioning look. As she took the first sip, her eyes were glowing. “Luke’s”, she whispered.
