That's really not expensive. And that's why I love amazon. Internet shoppage is so much easier than what with leaving the house and all. On the other hand, I really like going shopping. In real shops.

And back to the other topic...the last book I've read in english was "The boy in striped pyjamas" It´s a really good book.

I like amazon too (also other online shops), you can find almost every existing book, but a real book store (not the one you can find everywhere, but the one hidden in the streets and not very big at all) is my favourite.
And a real book store offers the opportunity to run over the pages...
Amazon offers search through or how it's called^^ but that is nothing compared to a real book...

The last english book I've read is called "Mr.Monk in outer space" by Lee Goldberg. It was good, no literary masterpiece, but it was a nice and funny story and easy to read.

At school we had to read many books, but most of them were boring. Maybe somebody knows 'An Inspector Calls'? It's my fist english book I finished for school. Sometimes it's funny and the end is a bit special, it's not hard to read because the story is made for the stage.
Oliver Twist is one I had to read for school but I never finished it. The story is sweet, I just had never time to finish it.

I love spending hours at the library or at a good book store. Sometimes I spend the whole afternoon just looking through books. My little sister is as crazy about books as me and therefore we go together and have much fun. We sit on the floor and next to us are piles of books we want to read.

Out of fun I bought 'The Moment you were gone' - Nicci Gerrard. It's about Gaby and Nancy who were best friends since childhood, but one day Nancy left and walked out of Gaby's live. 20 years later they meet again. And Gaby discoers the reason Nancy left.
The book is really easy to read. And you know exactly what's going to happen next. That's why I never finished it. I hate book you know precisely what will happen.

I hope everyone gets what I wanted to say, my english is not very good, therefore I need some practice.

I do know "An Inspector Calls", I got some books from an acquaitance, who has been english teacher for years, one of them was "An Inspector Calls" if I remember correctly. But to be honest, I've never read it^^
I also got, and read, animal farm, Lord of the Flies and "American Short Stories" 1,2,3 and more^^ also Irish Short Stories and some from other countries.

Stupid white men is another book I've read. It's pretty hard not becoming angry about the U.S. and U.S.-Americans while reading it...

Which school books did you use?
I had the "You & Me" books at first to fourth grade (grammar school) and at 5th to 8th grade (also grammar school) the "Make your way with english" books. I love the "You&Me" books. The "Make your way with english" books were good, but the topics were more serious than the ones "You&Me" concentrated on...drugs, violence, oppression, war and so on.

I still use my english school books for fun when I'm bored...

A few weeks ago, I´ve read Romeo and Juliet but it was very difficult to understand and so I´ve read the rest of the story in german...

I don't remember what the text books were called we used at school...

Reading Shakespeare is quite ambitious. But you get into it after a while. I like Shakespeare. My favourite right now is A Midsummer Night's Dream. So funny.

I've never read Romeo and Juliet

But I had to read Hamlet as preparation for my oral examination..It was very challenging, cause' we had to read the original version in Old English..

It was annoying, words like thee, thou or shalt aren't used anymore. It felt like reading a foreign language mixed with english^^ and the dictionary didn't help very much, it doesn't list all Old English vocabulary.

I think Shakespear meant something like this:
If they do marry, I'll give them this plague as their dowry, (the next sentence is imosspible for me to understand accurately) be as virginal as ice? (how is it possible to be as virginal as ice????) as pure as snow (something easy to understand...), you shall not escape calumny...

That's how I acted the hole time reading the book. There were only a few sentences were I hadn't had to look up the vocabulary in the dictionary.

I've never seen an edition where Shakespeare's work has been translated to "modern" english, so I think it's not that special if you had to read the old version
