Lore vergleicht Emily und ihr vorhergegangenes Hin und Her mit Rickels, meint, sie könnten da doch mal auftreten.

Da Margie nicht in Richards Firma wechseln will, da ihr dieser nichts  zahlen kann, meint Lore, dass sie in ihrer jetzigen Firma, in der sie ja  Gehalt bekommt, nicht für Käse anstehen muss.

Sie meint  also, Richard könne voraussagen (dass der Anrufer gleich auflegt) wie  Johnny Carson in seiner Tonight Show mit dem Briefumschlag.

M*A*S*H ist  eine  amerikanische Fernsehserie, die in einem mobilen Feldlazarett der US Army (Mobile Army Surgical Hospital) während des Korea-Kriegs spielt. Ein Charakter der Serie, Walter Eugene Radar O’Reilly, das Herz des Lagers sowie Schreiber und rechte Hand des Kommandeurs. Ohne ihn liefe gar nichts. Es scheint, als habe nur er den wirklichen Durchblick.

Salvatore Mineo war ein italo-amerikanischer Schauspieler und Sänger.

Chachi war ein Character aus der TV-serie Happy Days€ und Joanie Loves Chachi€. Anfangs war er ein Aussenseiter, aber später fand er viele freunde. Chachi started off as a sporadically appearing, rather wacky, insecure, younger man. Chachi desperately tries to come off as a "tough guy," but his sensitivity often comes through.

Da auch Chachi mal Mist gebaut hat, vergleicht Taylor Jess mit ihm.

Richard John Cyril "Rick" Allen ist der Schlagzeuger der englischen Hardrock-Band Def Leppard. Er  spielt trotz der kompletten Amputation seines linken Armes  weiter in  seiner Band.

Ein clown car ist ein Sketch aus dem Zirkus. Zb steigt eine riesen Menge an Clowns aus einem proportional unmöglich kleinen Auto aus, was einen lustigen Effekt hat. Das erste Mal wurde sie im Cole Bros. Circus in den 50ern aufgeführt. Auch im Film, zb in  Mel Brooks' remake von To Be or Not To Be findet der Sketch Beachtung.

Aktuelle episode:
Ich sehe das genauso wie Mara; denkt mal an Napoleon Dynamite oder 500 Days of Summer, die sind doch öfter so abgehalftert
Rory hat da auch nen Bademantel an und nen Dutt aufm kopf

Die zwei aus 2.21 sind mir auch noch aufgefallen; habe angefangen, die Serie nochmal durchzuschauen

Tonto ist eine fiktive Figur; der Begleiter von The Lone Ranger, einem US-amerikanischen Western Charakter, erfunden von George W. Trendle und Fran Striker für eine Radiosendung.

In der Geschichte The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calveras County von Mark Twain wird ein Frosch mit Schrotkugeln (lead) gefüllt und zum springen gebracht. In der Geschichte wird sich über Kleinstadtbewohner lustig gemacht.

In Shirley Jackson's Kurzgeschichte "The Lottery" hat eine Kleinstadt eine Lotterie, in der die Gewinner von den Bewohnern gesteinigt werden.

Da Rory fragt, ob der Frühstücksplatz in der Nachbarstadt wäre und Lore meint, sie würden die Nachbarstadt nicht mehr unterstützen und besuchen, reden sie über die ‚Gründe‘, die sie aus den beiden Geschichten suchen.

Michael Landon war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler, der vorallem in Fernsehserien wie Little House on the Prairie und Highway to Heaven, aber auch Bonanza. Darin spielte er die Rolle von Little Joe, der zwei ältere Brüder hat. In der Serie sagt er das öfter mal zu seinen Brüdern, weil er nicht so schnell war.

Lorelai nennt Lane also Michael Landon, weil dessen Charakter Little Joe in der Serie seine älteren Brüder immer bittet, auf ihn zu warten. Auch Lane bat ja Lore und Rory darum.

Ramble On ist ein song von Led Zepplin, deren Schlagzeuger John Bonham war. Auch Bonham spielte als Kind ncoh auf Blechdosen etc.

Lane meint, sie hätte den Beat von Ramble On fast drauf, aber sie müsste aufhören, sich die Stöcke ins Gesicht zu hauen. Rory meint dann, Bonham hätte das gleiche Problem gehabt, als er auf Blechdosen usw. trommelte.

Nate bezeichnet im Englsichen eine Person, die imme für einen dasein wird, einen bestenFreund, jemanden, dem man sein Leben anvertrauen kann.
Jemand der ‘Narcoleptic€‘ ist, hat die Schlafkrankheit Narkolepsie, hat einen Schlafdrang/zwang. Er ist dauernd schläfrig und schläft unkontrolliert ein.

Lore meint, der müde ‚Kumpel/Beste Freund’ Jackson wäre Narcolepticer.

1972 hatte Alka Seltzer einen Werbespot, in dem sich ein Mann, der einen Pyjama trägt, unbehaglich fühlt und zuweilen wegen Verdauungsstörungen oder Sodbrennen herumstöhnt. Er sagte: "I cant believe I ate the whole thing", während seine Frau meinte: "You ate the whole thing." Dann nahm der Mann auf Rat der Frau ein Alka Seltzer und fühlte sich besser. (Alka Seltzer sind Brauseschmerztabletten gegen Sodbrennen und einen sauren Magen.)

Lore meint, da Jackson (auch im schlafanzug wie der typ aus der werbung) herumstöhnt wie der Mann in der Werbung, müsse er jetzt diesen Werbesatz sagen.

Das Shea Stadium ist ein Baseballstadium, indem die New York Mets spielen. Am 15. August 1965 fand das größte ŸLive-Konzert der Beatles in diesem ausverkauften Stadion statt. Bei ihren Konzerten ging es oft hochher: Fans kreischten hysterisch, fielen in Ohnmacht und wurden von Polizisten hinausbefördert.

Lore beschreibt das Innere ihres Hirns als Shea Stadium während dem Beatles Konzertes = CHAOS PUR.

Rory meint, dass Lore sicher stolz wäre, wenn sie das Diplom an der Wand hängen hat. Lore meint daraufhin, dass das schon sein könne, außer sie verwandelt sich in John Nash, der ja nach seinem Durchbruch schizophrenie bekam (Eben auch diese Gewaltausbrüche.)

Lore meint, ihre Eltern wollten, dass sie ihren HighSchoolAbschluss macht, nach Vassar geht, einen Yalemann heiratet und einen spitznamen wie Babe,Bunny oder Shih Tzu bekommt. (Mit dem Namen übertreibt sie nat. wieder)

Lore meint, ihre Karriere wäre so schlimm, dass sogar Hahn sie unter ihrem Niveau fände.

Rory meint, sie habe im Zagat nachgesehen und diesen Jet gebucht, um schnell mit Lore nach Paris in dieses ‚Restaurant‘ zu kommen.

Lore meint, Rory solle versuchen sie in der Concorde neben berühmte Personen wie Sting oder Screech zu setzen.

I mean, she was welling up at the end, but she had the decency to hold it in until I was gone. I have enough faculty recommendations to run for student council, so I don't need her anyway. Jess vergleicht Stars Hollow mit Boonesville, sozusagen DAS Provinzkaff überhaupt; ohne Politische gemeinde.

Shaun Paul Cassidy ist ein US-amerikanischer Popsänger, Schauspieler und Fernsehproduzent. Ende der 1970er Jahre war er ein internationales Teenidol.

Lore meint, da sie von dem Tafelstaub niesen muss, wäre sie wie Woody Allen in dem Film. Außerdem sagt sie, sie würde das Haus nie ohne Make-up, einem Spiegel und einem Foto von Shaun Cassidy verlassen.
