"Owing to fatigue following an intensive period of touring, Andy Nicholson shall be taking a rest and will not be accompanying Arctic Monkeys on their forthcoming tour of North America," the band explained in a statement.
They added: "Nick O'Malley shall be standing in for Andy on the tour which begins in Vancouver on May 27th. We all wish Andy a speedy recovery."
The band are due to return in Europe in July for festivals, including T in the Park (July 9).
Also this summer there's a planned visit to Austrailia and Japan, before coming back to play the Carling Weekend: Reeding and Leeds Festivals at the end of August.

OMG, das wollte ich auch gerade posten.
Das ist so scheisse ey, echt... :heul: Ich hoffe, es geht ihm dann bald wieder gut. Aber als ich das in der Community las, standen mir die Tränen in den Augen und ich schrie: "WAS?! OMG... WAS?! NEIN!! WAS?!".

Nick O’Malley, who stood in for Andy while he was absent from the recent tour of North America, shall carry on playing bass for the remaining shows this summer.
We have been mates with Andy for a long time and have been through some amazing things together that no one can take away. We all wish Andy the very best.
