"to fire on all cylinders" ist wohl ein Ausdruck, wenn etwas hervorragend funktioniert, steht hier. Oder hier ist noch eine ausführlichere Erkläurung, den Begriff gibt es seit Anfang 1900!

Es soll wohl heißen, dass damals das Fernsehen noch toll war bzw. alles aufgeboten wurde in dieser Show.
