so, Corinna und ich haben's geschafft, wir leben beide (mehr oder weniger) noch und haben neue Teile für euch, enjoy :hi:
He followed her into the bathroom, ignoring the protests of the women around him and held her hair back while she emptied her stomach into the toilet.
He closed hi eyes for a moment, trying to swallow the pain that this reminder of the current situation had caused but he failed miserably. He rubbed her back to give her at least a little bit of comfort. Lorelai dropped her head to her chest feeling tired and disgusting.
She gladly took the toilet paper Luke handed her and turned around to look at him; it shattered her heart to see this concern, this fear in his eyes and knowing that she was completely powerless made her wanna scream. Tears of frustration and tiredness were forming in her eyes and her bottom lip trembled.
She leaned against his chest.
âTalk to meâ he said softly, tilting her head up with his finger. She sniffled, brushed away a tear
âI- itâs just - I wanted to forget tonight, you know, forget all about it and just enjoy the moment, but thatâs not possible because the cancer not only takes over and controls my cells, it also starts to control my life. And I keep telling myself that itâs gonna be okay, that everything will work out fine, but I canât keep the What ifs out of my head, you know, I really try to not think about what will happen if the therapy doesnât catch on and focus on the battle but itâs just too hard, the thoughts come and go and I canât stop them, no matter how much I want to!â
She cried into his shoulder and he stroked her hair, desperately trying to be strong for her, not to cave in, shutting the fears and worries out.
âTake me home, Lukeâ she said in a tear-stricken voice and he was happy to obey.
When he had calmed her down enough to go to sleep he had changed her into her pyjamas and tucked her into her bed. After making sure she was alright and went downstairs. He had dismissed all workers today so they were all alone in the house, which he was glad for as he grabbed the phone and dialled a familiar number.
âMia? Itâs Luke, I need to talk to youâ
He spoke to Mia for about an hour and she comforted him, finding the exact words to make him feel better.
âItâs just that⦠sometimes I think I canât take it anymore. Being there for her, being the strong one. I donât really have the stamina for this because weâre too close, sheâs too close and Iâm not making sense anymore⦠Sorry Mia for bothering you this late. No itâs not fine, I shouldnât do this. Thanks Mia, youâve really helped me out. Yeah I will give her a hug from you. Yeah you too, byeâ
He hung up and put the phone down gingerly, resting his head in his hands. He hadnât noticed the slender figure leaning in the doorway because he sat with his back to the door and was so engrossed in the telephone call.
Lorelai had only heart the last part of the conversation and was walking toward him now, slowly. She put a hand on his shoulder and he jumped âGeez!! I thought you were asleepâ How much did she hear?
âWho wants you to give me a hug?â she asked
âOh, just Mia, I talked to Miaâ
âWhy would you call Mia?â
âWhy wouldnât I call Mia?â
âBecause usually, when you needed somebody to talk to you called your mother, never Mia. This has got to be a huge problem for you. Did you talk to Mia about me?â she narrowed her eyes at him and watched him fidget under her gaze.
When she received no reply she slammed her hand down on the table, making his head shoot up.
âGoddamn it, Luke, I told you not to tell anyone, why canât you respect that??â
âHoney, calm down, I-â
âNo I donât wanna calm down! Miaâs my buisnesspartner and if she knows, everybodyâll know. Luke, news like these spread like a wildfire in my business!â
âSo basically youâre saying that the person Iâd trust with my life would go around and spread something like that??â He was becoming more aggravated now
âCan you think about anyone but yourself for a minute, huh? Could you? Cause there are more important things to deal with nowâ
âSo Iâm not important to you, am I? Of course not, big Lorelai Gilmore doesnât care about other peoples feelings!â
âYou never listen, Luke, this could ruin my firm, destroy everything Iâve ever worked for in my life, if this gets out Iâm toast, why donât you get that??â she was screaming now, her face flushed, feeling a little nauseous.
âMy God, look at us. Having a go at each other, jumping down each otherâs throat when we really should bond and be strong togetherâ Luke just nodded
âRemember the promise I gave you? That we wouldnât fight anymore?â he asked and she smiled
âCross your heart and hope to die? S-â
âYes, that one. Iâm sorry I broke it and Iâm also sorry that I called Miaâ she shook her head vigorously
âNo, no, donât apologize, Iâm the one who started yelling at you even though youâve been nothing but supportive and there for me over the last few weeks. Iâm sorry. And I didnât get around to tell you the thing at the ball that I absolutely wanna tell you!â
Luke looked at her expectantly as she wrapped her arms around his neck and looked him in the eye.
âI wanted to tell you in the right moment, at the right time, with the right circumstances but today I learnt that the setting is not so important. What really counts is the message you wanna convey. I havenât said this to many people, come to think of it, I havenât told anyone yet and really meant what I said-â
âIs your monologue finished anytime soon?â She put a finger to his lips to silence him
âShh, jesus! Okay here goes: Luke, I- I love youâ
He smiled under her finger and opened his mouth to speak but waited for her to give her permission
âGo aheadâ
âI love you too, Lore. Even though I wished for the circumstances to be different, but as you said: the message is the key!â Sheâd never thought she would believe it if a man said these three (actually four) words to her, but it was different this time. She believed him and her heart swelled when he had kissed her and carried her up to bed.
He followed her into the bathroom, ignoring the protests of the women around him and held her hair back while she emptied her stomach into the toilet.

gut okay, neuer Teil, get out the Kleenex (or not )
The next few weeks passed in a blur, their lives flying by, Lorelai had appointed Martin as a substitute to work for her, heâd seemed like the best choice.
She wasnât able to concentrate anymore so it didnât make sense for her to torture herself into work and the stabbing pain in her head was a silent companion wherever she went.
As said, their lives went by in a blur until one day it began to focus when Luke pulled up to the house and sensed straight away that something was wrong.
He decided to let it go and stepped into the quiet house.
Theyâd dismissed every servant in this household, he didnât want too many people bothering her anymore.
He went up the stairs, thinking that she was asleep and trying not to wake her. When he didnât find her in their bed he looked into the bathroom, but she was nowhere to be seen.
âLorelai?â he called but didnât get an answer.
Maybe sheâs out in the garden⦠or⦠he didnât even want to think of the âorâ. He went downstairs because upstairs was definitely Lorelai-less and pulled open the kitchen door.
Thatâs when he saw her.
Sprawled on the kitchen tiles, a shattered plate had cut her finger and blood was running from it.
âLorelai?â he asked, praying that sheâd just stand up, smile at him, make some wise ass comment and everything was fine. But he prayed in vain because she just lay there, motionless.
He dashed for the telephone and dialled 911 in a frenzy, barely able to hold the phone still, he was shaking with terror. He ordered an ambulance to the house and theyâd told him to check up on her, maybe sheâll wake up.
So he went back into the kitchen and cleaned up the blood, then sat next to her and put a shaky hand on her shoulder. It was cold as ice and he withdrew his hand, eyes wide.
He didnât dare check her pulse but when he took her hand into his, he felt it. Flickering like the wings of a butterfly, but it was still there.
Tears ran down his face, the first ones he had allowed to flow since hearing the bad news months ago.
He heard the sirens approaching and went to the door to open the gates, wiping his face on his sleeve.
The ambulance guys hurried in with a stretcher and hurried back out with Lorelai. He stood at the door, frozen to the spot until one of the guys asked him something.
âWhat?â
âI asked if you wanted to go with the ambulance of if you just wanted to follow us?â
âIf itâs okay, Iâd like to go with you, Iâm not so sure if I can drive safelyâ his weak attempt at humor was rewarded with a sympathetic smile from the paramedic and then he got into the ambulance car.
