Emily hätte gerne eine nette Unterhaltung wie es bei den Kennedys war. Lorelai und Rory reden über Hintern und frusten damit die gute Emily komplett, die daraufhin ihren Spruch über Camelot loslässt, damit Richard brüskiert und kundtut, dass sie nur dem hohlen Gezirpe der beiden Grillen folgt.

Rory meint, die Szene, dass sie beide versuchten durch die Tür zu gehen, hätten auch die Marx Brothers in ihre Show aufnehmen können.

Seine Dialoge bestehen oft aus Sätzen, die mit komischen Bildern gegenübergestellt werden.


Also meint Lore, es wäre interessant zu wissen, was David Mamet wohl über diese seltsamen Engel schreiben/dichten würde.

Paris meint, wenn sie es "Manifest" nennt, würed es sie in ein falsches Licht rücken, weil es doch etwas fanatisch klingt. Quasi würde sie mit dieser Bezeichnung wie jemand wirken, der in seiner Waldhütte sitzt und jahrelang über seinem Manifest brütet. Daraufhin meint Rory, um sie darin zu bekräftigen, dass es verrückt sei, sie solle ihre E-mails nicht öffnen, da dort Drohungen eingehen könnten.

“Gaslight „ (auf Deutsch “Das Haus der Lady Alquist“) ist ein Film der auf dem Schauspiel “Street Angel” basiert. Darin geht es um Gregory, der seine ungeliebte Ehefrau systematisch in den Wahnsinn treiben will, um von der Suche nach den im Haus befindlichen Juwelen abzulenken, die Jahre zuvor bei seinem Mord an Alice Alquist nicht auffindbar waren.

Lore meint, zum Tee mit Gran und ihren Eltern zu gehen, wäre genauso schlimm, wie sich mit dem durchgeknallten Gregory aus diesem Film zu treffen.

Im Jahr 1987 tauchten Berichte auf, welche sagten, dass R & B-Superstar Michael Jackson versuchte Merrick's Knochen zu kaufen, aber dies war nur ein Gerücht.
Es gibt einen Song der Band The Cranberries mit Titel „Ode to my Family“, in dem es übersetzt heißt:

Lore meint also, ähnlich wie Jako könne Rory sich mit dem vielen Geld dann kaufen, sogar die Knochen des Elephant Man´s.
Lore hat immer diesen Song im Kopf, da es darin um eine schwierige Jugend geht, ähnlich wie Lore´s . Sie hätte diesen Song im Kopf, weil sie jetzt ein schlechtes Gewissen hat, weil nicht mehr Emily für Rorys Schulgeld verantwortlich ist.

Sookie macht eine Anspielung auf Cabaret, ein berühmtes Broadwaymusical, in denen Liza Minelli und Joel Grey die Hauptrollen spielen. In einer Szene singt Joel Grey mit Liza Minelli "Money makes the world go around.” Sookie meint Sie sei Joel und Lore sei Liza, weil die beiden, wenn sie Rory anrufen, diesen Song singen könnten.
